Decide upon the need for additional data, information, etc., and authorize the means necessary to obtain the required information.

Identify and develop sources of evidence from claim folder application, the applicant, government sources, medical sources, district offices, private institutions, or employers, deciding the most effective way to procure such information.

Schedule and/or coordinate appointments, meetings, or other activities; gathers materials and follow-up as needed.

Write or draft correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.

Make authorized adjustments and corrections to previously processed claims.

Make a decision or solve a problem by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.

Evaluate information against a set of standards.

Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing.

Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
