As a former Social Security Claims Representative, Mr. Vanarelli has years of experience adjudicating claims for Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Medicare and Medicaid benefits. Social Security Claims Representatives perform the following types of tasks:

  • Review cases, applications, files, records, etc., to determine action to be taken.
  • Analyze, summarize and/or review data; reports findings, interprets results and/or makes recommendations.
  • Assess client physical, mental, social or economic needs. Develop and implement plans to meet those needs.
  • Decide upon the need for additional data, information, etc., and authorize the means necessary to obtain the required information.
  • Identify and develop sources of evidence from claim folder application, the applicant, government sources, medical sources, district offices, private institutions, or employers, deciding the most effective way to procure such information.
  • Schedule and/or coordinate appointments, meetings, or other activities; gathers materials and follow-up as needed.
  • Write or draft correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
  • Make authorized adjustments and corrections to previously processed claims.
  • Make a decision or solve a problem by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Evaluate information against a set of standards.
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing.
  • Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Find, gather and collect information or data.
